Every Natural Stone Deserves Expert Care

Not all stone is marble — and not all stone professionals know the difference. Granite, limestone, travertine, and sandstone each have unique hardness ratings, porosities, and mineral compositions that demand completely different abrasive sequences, compounds, and sealing strategies. Using the wrong approach on the wrong stone causes irreversible damage.

At Payal Marble Polishing, we have spent years mastering the restoration science behind each natural stone type. Our work covers everything from light maintenance polishing and surface scratch removal to full structural restoration including crack filling, lippage grinding, honing, and penetrating sealer application. We serve residential and commercial clients across Pune.

Stones We Restore

Six Natural Stones — One Expert Team

We are not generalists. We understand exactly how each stone responds to abrasives, water, and chemical compounds — and we adapt accordingly.

Igneous Stone

Granite

India's most popular kitchen and floor stone. Extremely hard — requires industrial-grade diamond tooling. We restore colour depth, remove scratches, and apply penetrating sealer to prevent staining.

Sedimentary Stone

Limestone

Soft and highly porous — easily scratched and stained. We use fine-grit honing and a specialised sealant that blocks moisture while keeping the natural creamy texture intact.

Metamorphic Stone

Travertine

Characterised by pits and voids filled with epoxy. We carefully fill holes, hone the surface to even out the finish, and polish to a uniform satin or gloss — hiding years of damage.

Sedimentary Stone

Sandstone

Textured and granular, common in outdoor paving and garden pathways. We deep clean, fill eroded pockets, and apply a penetrating sealer to stabilise the surface against weathering.

Metamorphic Stone

Quartzite

Harder than marble with a sparkling crystalline appearance. Requires high diamond pad pressure but rewards the effort with an exceptionally bright, durable finish.

Regional Stone

Kota Stone

Beloved across Maharashtra for its durability. We deep clean decades of embedded dirt, eliminate surface roughness with fine grinding, and seal to enhance its natural slate-blue and brown tones.

Our Approach

4-Stage Stone Restoration Process

The sequence varies by stone type, but the discipline never does.

01

Stone Assessment

We identify the stone type, hardness (Mohs scale), porosity, and existing damage — scratches, cracks, staining, etching. This determines the exact abrasive sequence and compounds we will use.

02

Repair & Grinding

Structural issues like cracks and voids are filled with colour-matched epoxy. Heavy surface lippage or unevenness is ground flat with coarse diamond tooling before polishing begins.

03

Honing & Polishing

We progress through the correct grit sequence for the specific stone — granite and quartzite require far coarser starting grits than limestone or travertine. We stop at whatever sheen level you've requested.

04

Sealing & Finishing

The restored surface is cleaned, allowed to dry, and sealed with a stone-appropriate penetrating impregnator. For porous stones like limestone and sandstone, we apply a second coat for maximum protection.

Why Choose Us

What Sets Our Stone Restoration Apart

Stone-Specific Expertise

We don't apply a one-size-fits-all approach. Every stone gets the exact abrasive sequence, compound type, and sealer chemistry it needs for optimal results.

Industrial-Grade Equipment

We use single-disc and planetary grinders with genuine diamond tooling — the same equipment used by international stone restoration companies. No consumer-grade shortcuts.

Guaranteed Results

Every job comes with our 7-day rework guarantee. If you are not fully satisfied with the result, we return and fix it at no charge — no questions asked.

Trained Specialists

Our technicians are trained specifically in stone restoration — not general construction or cleaning. They understand stone science, not just surface aesthetics.

Transparent Pricing

What we quote is what you pay. Our detailed written quotes break down every cost — there are no add-ons, no surprises, and no post-job invoices for "extras."

Eco-Safe Chemicals

We use non-toxic, biodegradable compounds and sealers approved for use in homes with children, pets, and people with chemical sensitivities.

Common Questions

Stone Restoration — FAQs

Can you restore granite that has lost its shine?

Yes. Granite is one of the hardest natural stones (rating 6–7 on the Mohs scale), so it takes longer to polish than marble — but the results are outstanding and very durable. We use industrial-grade diamond pads and a specialised granite crystalliser to restore deep colour and a high-gloss finish. Results typically last 5–8 years with normal use.

How do you fill travertine holes and voids?

Travertine naturally contains pits and voids formed during its creation. We fill these with a colour-matched, stone-compatible epoxy resin that bonds permanently with the stone. Once cured, we grind the fill flush with the surface and polish the entire floor to a uniform finish. The result is a seamless, pit-free surface that is also easier to clean and maintain.

Does limestone restoration require special sealing?

Yes, absolutely. Limestone is highly porous and will absorb stains rapidly without proper sealing. After restoration, we apply a high-quality penetrating impregnator sealer that fills the stone's pores from within — blocking water, oil, and acidic liquids from penetrating the surface. For heavily used or outdoor limestone, we apply two coats. We recommend re-sealing every 18–24 months.

Can outdoor sandstone be restored?

Yes, though outdoor stone restoration has additional considerations — weather exposure, algae growth, and heavier soiling. We start with a deep pressure-wash or chemical clean to remove biological growth and embedded dirt, then assess whether grinding and resealing is needed or whether surface treatment alone will suffice. For outdoor sandstone, we use a breathable sealer that protects against rain while allowing moisture vapour to escape.

How do I know which stone I have?

Most homeowners are unsure — and that's completely fine. During our free site inspection, we identify the stone type using visual assessment, hardness testing, and acid reaction checks. This takes just a few minutes and is part of our free service. We'll tell you exactly what you have and what treatment will give you the best results. You don't need to guess before calling us.
